Comment Photographs (see link) clearly show that staff wore informal attire, and as such, it is extremely unlikely that marked buttons ever existed.
Blackburn and Darwen Corporations purchased the lines within their municipal boundaries, as well as a proportionate share of the tramway rolling stock (engines and trailers). Darwen did not however operate steam services itself, but instead leased these to Blackburn Corporation.
