Comment Uniforms were only issued following the take-over of the B&STCo by the British Electric Traction Company Limited in 1896 (see link), and then seemingly only for a short period. Although these uniforms undoubtedly bore buttons, there is considerable doubt as to whether these were the standard BETCo issue, as that company appears to have only used its trademark 'Magnet & Wheel' insignia once a horse (or steam) system had been electrified, which the Brighton and Shoreham never was.
